Barefoot Birth doulas are dedicated to providing unconditional and unwavering birth support to expectant mothers and their families. Our doulas offer compassionate care, personalized attention, and a wealth of knowledge to empower people as they navigate the profound experience of bringing life into the world.
At Barefoot Birth, our Full Spectrum Doulas offer a wealth of knowledge and direct support.
A Full Spectrum Doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support to the pregnant person throughout the entire reproductive process. This can include helping create a birth plan, providing education and guidance on childbirth options, providing comfort measures during labor such as massage and breathing techniques, and advocating for the families wishes with medical staff. The role of a doula is to provide continuous support to the birthing person, regardless of the birth setting or type of birth. Doulas do not provide medical care, but they work alongside medical professionals to ensure that the birthing persons needs are being met and their wishes are being respected.
What Does Full Spectrum Doula support look like?
On going support - Access to text/call for your entire pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. 24/7 On call support for two weeks prior to estimated due date
Personalized care - Together we will make a list of birth wishes, discuss different options and what would be best suited for your needs.
Education and guidance - With a doula by your side you have access to all of our resources and handouts. Our doulas are also trained in Spinning Babies Techniques, up to date with evidence based birth practices and will be there to support you through your journey
Preservation - Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are sacred, this means that all birthing people should be protected. A doula can help facilitate a peaceful golden hour and provide guidance on the first latch.
Lactation & Infant feeding
Receive expert guidance from a certified lactation counselor, we will address any concerns or challenges you may be facing. Together we will come up with a personalized plan to see what works best for you and your family. This also includes breast pump guidance, flange fitting and even choosing what bottle might work best. We provide ongoing assistance and are just a phone call away. Our support doesn’t end after the first latch either, our CLC is also here to hold your hand through the weaning process. No matter what your feeding journey may look like, we are here for you.
Postpartum Doula Services:
Having professional in-home care far outweighs the value of the latest baby product on the market. Our Postpartum Doulas are committed to being with your family during the time immediately following the arrival of your baby offering assistance with the newborn child, sibling care, and parental support. Barefoot Birth Postpartum Doulas specialize in creating opportunities for new parents to bond with their baby and gain confidence in themselves as parents. We have extensive knowledge in postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding support and emotional wellbeing.

Personalized Support - whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding our doulas are here to support you and your wishes
Emotional wellness - we are here to provide a safe space for you to express your feelings, fears, and concerns. Our doulas are here to help you navigate the emotional ups and downs of new parenthood
Household support - We understand how demanding a newborn can be and the little time thats left at the end of the day for household chores and self care. Let us mother you, while you are bonding with your new baby and healing, we will take care of light housework, food prep and even organize the laundry
Education and resources - Our doulas go beyond immediate support, we also provide , sleep strategies and self-care practices. We also have an arsenal of trusted providers in the area that we are happy to refer you to
Investment for this service begins at $20 per hour and increases based on need, schedule, etc...
